Where are we today?

This section describes the central Puget Sound region, and discusses both the history behind VISION 2020 and why the Puget Sound Regional Council is updating regional policies at this time.

It also includes a regional environmental "baseline" that looks at how the central Puget Sound’s natural environment has changed over time. It attempts to make sense of where we have been, where we are, what we have learned, and where we may be going.

This section also provides the policy context for VISION 2020, along with an overview of the relationship between the State Growth Management Act and VISION 2020.
